Disney loves to kickstart the holiday season with a bang, and wherever there's a Disneyland, there were awesome holiday-themed kickoff events this past weekend...but I think the one that takes the cake would have to be the DisneySea in Japan. I mean, beautifully-lit cruise ships, insane fireworks, Disney characters in adorably ornate holiday costumes, and oh yeah, ARASHI -- the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit!

So from what I could decipher, the show started with the boys, and a boatload (literally) of Disney characters, making a stunning entrance on this gorgeous chandelier ship:

Each of the members were teamed with a different set of Disney characters...

Aiba was paired with the crew from Pinocchio....

Sho got my faves, Donald and Daisy Duck...

Nino got jiggy wid it with the Aladdin dudes...

Riida got to snuggle with Chip n' Dale...

And attention whore, and my personal favorite Arashi member ever, Jun, got to hang with the stars, Mickey and Minnie, who, by the way, couldn't keep their snouts off my irresistable Jun...

The show was a short one, lasting a little over a half hour. According to fan reports, they sang a medley of Christmas carols, a medley of their own songs, and then ended with Disney classics like "Mickey Mouse".

In this cap, they were singing thier debut song, "A.RA.SHI":

While the concert space capacity was under 10,000, which is actually "intimate" for an Arashi show, the nature of the performance venue (on water) meant they had to be creative in how they staged the show. There were catwalks along the front of the seating areas, which the boys utilized, but the bulk of the show was on the water. As for how they moved from the gorgeous chandelier cruise ship to the water stages and to the catwalks, and got closer to the audience, they used these super cool dragon speedboats:

My favorite bit was when Mickey jumped up from a trapdoor to bust a move with the boys during "Mickey Mouse":

And here's a cap of the fireworks finale:

So this definitely put me in the holiday spirit! Now if Santa could somehow grant my R-rated Arashi wishlist...but that's another story...Happy Holidays to you and yours!

And much thanks to the kind soul who uploaded the video on youtube (rmjma5)...
